Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
Beyond Behaviour is a behaviour-support platform built for teachers and education professionals. It is operated from New Zealand and is available to users internationally. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it plainly, so you can read it without a legal dictionary.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Beyond Behaviour, we may collect:
- Account information — your name (if you provide one), email address and authentication credentials managed by our authentication provider.
- Information you voluntarily enter into Coach, Activities, Reflect, the Behaviour Library and related tools — including situations, descriptions, questions, requests, reflections and check-ins.
- Saved content — activities, reflections, cases, preferences and other items you choose to save.
- Membership information — your membership level, status and billing period.
- Usage information — limited records of feature use needed to apply membership allowances.
- Billing identifiers — a customer and subscription reference from our payment provider, so we know what you have access to.
- Technical and security information — the basic technical data required to run and secure the service, such as request and error logs.
We do not store your full payment-card details. Card details are entered on, and processed by, our payment provider (Stripe). Beyond Behaviour only receives the identifiers and subscription status needed to manage your membership.
Beyond Behaviour does not currently run analytics, advertising pixels or marketing-tracking tools. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
Student privacy
Beyond Behaviour does not require students to create accounts and is not intended to create student profiles.
Please do not enter student names, addresses, contact details, identifying numbers, detailed medical information, or any other information that could directly identify an individual child. Describe situations anonymously wherever possible.
Descriptions like these are all we need:
- “a Year 7 student”
- “one of my students”
- “a student in my class”
You remain responsible for meeting your own professional, organisational and legal privacy responsibilities, including any policies set by your school or employer.
How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- create and operate your account
- provide the features you ask for
- generate relevant guidance in Coach and classroom activities and resources in Activities
- save the content you choose to keep
- provide Reflect and Insights functionality and connect related parts of the platform
- administer memberships and access levels
- process and manage subscriptions
- maintain the security and reliability of the service
- troubleshoot problems you report
- improve and develop the platform
- communicate with you about your account or the service
- meet our legal obligations
Beyond Behaviour does not sell your personal information.
Artificial intelligence
Parts of Beyond Behaviour use artificial intelligence to generate guidance, educational resources and related content. Information you submit to an AI-supported feature may be processed by the AI service providers needed to deliver that feature, currently OpenAI and, where applicable, Lovable's AI infrastructure and gateway.
For that reason, please avoid entering identifying student information, or sensitive information that is not needed for the support you are asking for.
AI-generated content can be incomplete, inaccurate or unsuitable for a particular child or situation. Beyond Behaviour supports your professional judgement — it does not replace it. See our AI Disclaimer for more detail.
Service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers to run Beyond Behaviour. At the time of writing these are:
- Lovable — application infrastructure and hosting.
- Supabase through Lovable Cloud — database, storage and authentication.
- OpenAI — AI-powered functionality, including coaching, activity generation and library content.
- Lovable's AI infrastructure and gateway — platform search and matching functionality where applicable.
- Stripe — payment and subscription processing.
Account emails, such as sign-in confirmation and password resets, are sent by our authentication provider.
These providers operate internationally, so some information may be processed or stored outside New Zealand.
International processing and users
Beyond Behaviour is operated from New Zealand and may be used by teachers and other eligible users around the world. Information may be processed or stored in New Zealand or in other countries where our service providers operate.
Privacy rights differ between jurisdictions. Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you additional rights concerning your personal information, including rights relating to access, correction, deletion or restricting certain processing. Where applicable law gives you additional rights, we will respect them.
To make a privacy request, email us at hello@beyondbehaviour.app.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including account access controls, encrypted connections and reputable infrastructure providers.
No online service can promise absolute security, and we do not guarantee it. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will act in line with our legal obligations.
Retention and deletion
Account information and saved content may be retained while your account remains active, or for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service and meet legal obligations. We do not automatically delete account content after a fixed period.
You can delete individual saved items yourself within the app. To close your account and have your account information and saved content deleted, email hello@beyondbehaviour.app from the address linked to your account.
After deletion, limited records may be retained where we are required or permitted to keep them — for example payment and subscription records held by our payment provider for financial and tax purposes. Residual copies may remain temporarily in backups or systems maintained by our service providers in accordance with their applicable retention practices.
Your privacy rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as deletion or restriction of certain processing.
Email hello@beyondbehaviour.app and we will respond as promptly as we reasonably can.
Cookies and similar technologies
Beyond Behaviour uses only the technologies needed to run the service:
- Authentication and session storage — keeps you signed in securely between visits.
- Interface preferences — small local settings that remember things like panel state.
We do not use analytics cookies, advertising pixels or marketing-tracking technologies.
Payments
Paid memberships are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, you enter your payment details directly with Stripe; we receive confirmation of your subscription status, billing period and the customer and subscription references linked to your account. Stripe handles your payment details under its own terms and privacy policy.
Children
Beyond Behaviour is intended for teachers and other adult education professionals. It is not designed for use by children, and accounts should not be created by them. The platform should not be used to intentionally submit unnecessary personally identifiable information about children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform develops. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the service where reasonable.
