Terms of Use
Last updated: September 2026
These terms apply when you use Beyond Behaviour, a New Zealand-based digital behaviour-support platform for teachers and education professionals. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy and AI Disclaimer.
About Beyond Behaviour
Beyond Behaviour brings together digital tools for behaviour support in one place. Depending on your membership, the platform may include:
- Coach — support for thinking through a specific situation.
- Activities — classroom-ready activities and printable resources.
- Reflect — check-ins and reflections you write for yourself.
- Behaviour Library — curated guidance on common behaviour themes.
- Insights — patterns drawn from your own use of the platform.
- Professional learning and philosophy content.
Beyond Behaviour supports professional practice. It does not replace your professional judgement, your school or organisation's policies, safeguarding responsibilities, applicable professional or legal obligations, or advice from specialist professionals.
Your account
Please give accurate information when you create an account, keep your sign-in details secure, and let us know if you believe someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account. Accounts are for individual use and should not be shared.
Professional use
You remain responsible for all decisions relating to your students, your behaviour support and your classroom practice. Suggestions from Beyond Behaviour are starting points to be considered, adapted or set aside according to your knowledge of the child, your context and your professional obligations.
Artificial intelligence
Several features are supported by artificial intelligence. AI-generated content can be incomplete, inaccurate, out of date or unsuitable for a particular child or situation. You must review generated content before using it with students or sharing it with colleagues or families.
Beyond Behaviour does not provide medical, psychological, diagnostic, legal, emergency or other specialist professional advice. Please see the AI Disclaimer for more.
Safeguarding and emergencies
Beyond Behaviour is not an emergency, crisis or safeguarding service. If a child or anyone else may be at risk of harm, follow your school or organisation's safeguarding and emergency procedures and contact the appropriate services immediately. Do not rely on Beyond Behaviour in those situations.
Student privacy
Do not enter student full names, addresses, contact details, student ID numbers, medical records or any other information that could reasonably identify an individual child. Describe students generally — for example, “a Year 7 student” or “one of my students”. You are responsible for complying with your own professional, organisational and legal privacy obligations.
Memberships
Beyond Behaviour offers a Free membership and a paid Founding Membership. Features and usage limits may differ between membership levels and may change as the platform develops.
We may adjust features, allowances and pricing over time. Where a change materially reduces what your paid membership includes, we will give you reasonable notice.
Subscription billing
Founding Membership is a recurring subscription unless otherwise stated. The applicable price and billing frequency are shown before checkout. Unless you cancel, the subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Your bank or card provider may apply currency conversion or international transaction fees, which are outside our control.
Cancellation
You can cancel your Founding Membership at any time from the billing portal linked in your account. Cancelling stops future renewals. Your Founding Membership access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and your account returns to the Free membership at that point.
Content you have already saved — coaching, reflections and activities — remains in your account unless you separately delete it. Free membership limits apply to new use and creation after your Founding access ends.
Refunds and consumer rights
Payments are not automatically refundable simply because you change your mind or no longer wish to use the service. However, nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.
If you have been charged in error, or something is not working as it should, please contact us at hello@beyondbehaviour.app and we will work with you to put it right.
Acceptable use
When using Beyond Behaviour, you agree not to:
- use the service for unlawful purposes or in breach of applicable law
- attempt to access accounts, data or areas of the service you are not authorised to access
- interfere with the security, integrity or performance of the service
- circumvent membership restrictions, allowances or paywalls
- submit content you do not have the right to use
- intentionally use the service to harm another person
- upload or transmit malicious code
- scrape, extract, copy or harvest content from the service by automated means without our permission
- resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute access to the service
Intellectual property
The Beyond Behaviour name, branding, software, frameworks, resource structures, templates and original written content are owned by Beyond Behaviour or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law.
Subject to your membership, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform and to print, adapt and use the resources available to you for your own teaching and within your own classroom or school setting.
You may not resell resources, publish them commercially, distribute them beyond your own professional context, or present them as your own product.
Content you provide
You keep ownership of the content you write and submit. You are responsible for making sure it is appropriate to share and that it does not include identifying student information.
You grant us the permissions reasonably necessary to store, process and transmit your content — including to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy — so that we can provide the features you have asked for. We do not claim ownership of your original content.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Beyond Behaviour reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Features may change, be added or be withdrawn as the platform develops, and maintenance or issues at our service providers may cause temporary disruption.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access where there is a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, where access is needed to protect the security of the service or other users, or where we are required to do so by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you an opportunity to put the matter right. You can stop using the service, or ask us to close your account, at any time.
Disclaimer and liability
Beyond Behaviour is provided as a professional support tool. Beyond what is expressly stated in these Terms, and to the extent permitted by law, we do not make guarantees about the outcomes you will achieve from using it.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of Beyond Behaviour is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any liability, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
Governing law and international users
Beyond Behaviour is operated from New Zealand and these Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
Beyond Behaviour is available to users in multiple countries. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local consumer, privacy or other applicable laws. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date above, and we will give reasonable notice of significant changes. Continuing to use Beyond Behaviour after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
